About The Printing Max
The Printing Max is an independent printer education website. We publish free, step-by-step guides that help people understand and solve common printer problems themselves.
Why this site exists
Printers are some of the most frustrating devices in a home or small office. Error messages are vague, settings are spread across the printer, the computer and the router, and searching for help often leads to pages that push software downloads, paid support lines or remote-access sessions. We wanted a calm, plain-language reference that explains what is going on and what to try, in a sensible order, without selling anything.
Who it helps
Our guides are written for home users, students, families and small offices using everyday inkjet and laser printers. You do not need technical knowledge: each guide explains terms as it goes and points out when a step is specific to Windows, macOS, ChromeOS or a particular type of printer.
What we cover
- Printer setup: preparing a new printer and adding it to your computers.
- Printer connectivity: USB, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Wi-Fi Direct connections.
- Printer troubleshooting: offline printers, jobs that will not print, blank pages, paper jams and streaks.
- Printer maintenance: ink and toner, printhead cleaning and routine care.
- Printer brands: independent orientation pages for HP, Canon, Epson and Brother owners.
What we are not
- We are not a printer repair company and do not repair, service or collect printers.
- We are not a technical support service. We do not take calls, offer remote access to your computer or provide one-to-one troubleshooting.
- We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorised by HP, Canon, Epson, Brother or any other manufacturer.
- We do not sell printers, ink, toner, software or extended warranties.
If your printer has a hardware fault or is under warranty, contact the manufacturer through its official website, or the retailer you bought it from.
How we write our guides
Guides are researched against manufacturer documentation and operating-system help pages where those are available, written in our own words and checked for accuracy and clarity before publication. Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed. Read the full editorial policy, including how to report a mistake.
How the site is funded
The site is currently free of advertising, affiliate links and sponsored content. If that changes, we will update our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Disclaimer before it happens, and any paid relationship will be clearly disclosed.
