Canon Printers: An Independent Owner’s Guide
Canon sells photo and home inkjets, refillable ink-tank printers, business inkjets and laser printers. Model names and support websites differ between regions, which can make finding the right driver confusing. This page gives you an overview so you can use our general guides with your Canon printer.
The Printing Max is an independent educational website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorised by Canon, and we do not provide Canon support. Canon and its product names are trademarks of their respective owner and are used here only to identify the products this page is about.

A note on software
App and utility availability and names change over time and can differ by region. Check Canon’s official website for your region and model.
Official Canon support, drivers and manuals
For drivers, firmware, manuals, warranty questions and hardware faults, go to the manufacturer directly: Canon (global website) . Canon support is regional: choose your country or region on Canon’s website to reach the right drivers, manuals and contact options.
The Printing Max has no connection with Canon and cannot access your device, account or warranty.
Tips for Canon owners
Use your region’s Canon site. The same printer can have a slightly different model name in different countries. Look up drivers on the Canon site for the region where the printer was sold.
Find your exact model. The model name is usually printed on the front or top of the printer, with full details on a label on the back or underneath.
Download only from official sources. Use Canon’s official website or your device’s official app store, not third-party driver sites.
Maintenance tools. On many Canon inkjets, nozzle check, cleaning and alignment are available from the printer’s control panel (often in a Maintenance menu) or from the driver software on a computer.

Frequently asked questions
Is The Printing Max part of Canon?
No. We are an independent educational website and are not affiliated with or endorsed by Canon.
Why can’t I find my Canon model on the website?
Canon support is organised by region, and some models have different names in different countries. Make sure you are on the Canon site for the region where the printer was sold, and check the exact model name on the printer’s label.
Should I use Canon’s software or my computer’s built-in driver?
Either can work for basic printing on many models. Canon’s own software usually gives access to more settings and maintenance functions. Download it only from Canon’s official website.
